Black, white.. and Celine

It's officially spring!!!
But snow??? Whaaa. That's New England for you right there

Here is an outfit I would have worn if the weather weren't so cold and snowy.
I think a wide brim hat can add sophistication and chicness to an otherwise plain outfit.
Same goes with gold accessories!

Monochrome

As you may or may not know, black and white is very on trend for spring 2013. We usually think bright colors and pastel tones once the warm weather rolls around, but black and white for spring can also be fun by playing with print and mixing different fabrics. Since it can still be cold outside, a sweater can be worn with maybe a short sleeve underneath in case it gets a little too warm throughout the day.

Sweater: Theory
Shorts: Zara
Shoes: Elizabeth and James

I would love to wear something like this outside, but I tend to get cold very easily so unless it's very hot out I stay away from wearing shorts. So a combo like this - a sweater and shorts could never work for me in real life. At least I get to enjoy it through dress up!

And here it goes.. Denim

I don't follow many bloggers, but the few I do follow inspired me to take pictures of myself playing dress up. I noticed that in order to "blog" one needs a nice camera and a photographer boyfriend at hand. However, I have neither of those so instead I used any old camera I had rolling around my apartment and a self-timer. Also, I am shy and am only interested in sharing my fashion choices so I decided including my face isn't necessary. I don't have much to offer, but I do want to share with the world how I dress and fashion!

Shirt: Gap
Pants: Madewell
Shoes: Lanvin

Denim was my inspiration of the day. Pants are a little crazy, but I was definitely feeling the dotted stripes. Especially since stripes are in this season! The chunky shoes are Lanvin, which I had posted about months back. Wish the weather would soon warm up so I can finally wear these babies outside!

CELINE MINI LUGGAGE IN ALMOND SMOOTH LEATHER

My very first Celine purchase. I am so so excited b/c I thought really long and hard about this. I had ordered 2 different Celine bags from California Barneys and Neimans to see them in person and choose which one I love more. Ultimately, I ended up returning both and exchanging it for a Celine mini in almond smooth leather, which I am totally obsessed with. The color is perfect and I realized that it is the color that Hilary Duff has been toting recently. The reason I wanted the Celine was after I saw Hilary Duff carry hers. I did some internet research and it had been posted that she was carrying it in Dune, which was not true. The Celine luggage that Hilary Duff carries as can be seen the photo below is the mini in almond smooth leather.

Surprisingly, the mini is not that heavy and obviously can fit many many things in it. I usually travel light so I don't know what I would put in it, but regardless it is a great statement bag and I hope I can enjoy it for years and years to come like I have been with my Chanel flap bag.

My first Lanvin purchase

I went to an outlet mall today to help the BF pick out a snowboarding outfit for his little brother. Mind you, my unofficial new years resolution was to spend less money, but there were SO many great sales on Net-a-Porter this week plus clearance on all Neiman x Target products so that resolution was easily broken.
The last few times I went to an outlet mall, it was pretty disappointing and most of the time I came back home with nothing. So I went without much expectation, and purely just to get out of the house and enjoy the ugly weather that is New England winter.
However, this time Barneys outlet was having an extra 70% sale on select items. I wasn't going to stop in, but it was on our way to our car so why not.
Lo and behold below is what I was able to grab at $100 (originally $899). It was too good of a deal to pass up and the baby blue Lanvin box just sealed the deal for me. Plus I can't walk in high heals so this platform, while it is chunky looking, is perfect to give the illusion of longer legs when worn with shorts.
Can't wait for summer so I can wear them out!
